North of Westport across Clew Bay sits Achill Island, Ireland’s largest off-shore island and one of its most scenic spots. Even amateur photographers have so many opportunities to shoot iconic images of Ireland that choosing only one photo to sum up a visit to the island is nearly impossible. Here are some of our favorite shots:
The “Irish cottage in ruins” seemed to catch my eye. There is so much intrigue into the life of that little cottage, the people that lived there and how they managed to sustain life throughout all the seasons. And, how many new lives were birthed right there in that little cottage. You could write a book about it, Christi.
