During the course of Project 100, we logged more than 2,000 miles hiking in more than 100 national parks, and naturally, people have asked us which trails we liked the best. A few hikes really stand out as our favorites for the physical challenge, stunning scenery and overall wow factor. Here they are (in alphabetical order because it’s just too hard to rank them any other way):
- Alkali Flat Loop – White Sands National Monument
- Andrews Bald Trail – Great Smoky Mountains National Park
- Angel’s Landing Trail – Zion National Park
- Cadillac Mountain-Canon Brook-A. Murray Young-Gorge Loop – Acadia National Park
- Chapel Lake-North Country-Mosquito Falls Loop – Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore
- Devil’s Garden Primitive Loop – Arches National Park
- Four-Mile Trail – Yosemite National Park
- Highline Trail – Glacier National Park
- Hurricane Hill Trail – Olympic National Park
- Rim to River Loop – Grand Canyon National Park
- Scoville Point-Tobin Harbor Loop – Isle Royale National Park

Sad to say, I can only check off two of these trails, Angel’s Landing Trail and three trails in the Grand Canyon. What great experiences!
